While I have talked about how to best approach setting goals, it’s only fair to talk about my own goal setting for the New Year! January 2022 comes with a new job and even more passion for this industry. With this new job comes a complete change in schedule, new day-to-day priorities and constantly being challenged. I think this is exactly what I need right now. I thrive under pressure and with the state of the world since 2020, I have been quite inside my bubble. I am so excited for this new year and all the challenges and triumphs to come. Now that my goals have been set I am ready to take on the year!

1) Complete my Group Fitness Instructor Certification
With my new job comes me jumping into the world of teaching group fitness classes! While I will still be teaching my personal training sessions and nutrition coaching, I now get to add a new layer to that. I have already started my course on becoming a Group Fitness Instructor and I am trying to move through it in a few weeks and be as prepared as I can be for my new job. Luckily I love to learn and I don’t think I will ever tire of taking these classes and growing my knowledge, even if it’s a bit stressful to be doing this as I start a new job!
2) Continue growing my programs
While I am starting a full time job, the company has no issue with me continuing work on my own virtual business. So over the next few months I will be growing my programs and content. I am in the process of doing photographs of warm-ups and exercises, and detailing the step by step instructions on each. I want to provide my clients with as much valuable information as possible. So while this is quite a time consuming project right now, once it’s finished it will be a great resource and can be shared with anyone who works with me!
3) Expand my nutrition
With my background of IBS and the ups and down of my GI journey, I have become quite regimented in my approach to nutrition. While I have balance and don’t exclude foods I love, I don’t have a lot of variety. Having these stomach issues means that I have to avoid gluten, dairy, soy and hard-to-digest fruits and vegetables. This was an overwhelming request from my nutritionist and GI doctor, but I made that change. As soon as I found meals I liked that fit into those boundaries, I stopped trying other recipes and my meal planning has become a rotation of the same meals.
In the coming year, I want to branch out and try new recipes and broaden my meals. I love food, and have always been very food motivated, so this is exciting for me. I also hope to use this as a way to help guide those who have similar food restrictions and struggle to find foods they like that don’t make them feel ill.
4) Continue making my house truly my home
Something that became a priority to me in 2021 was making my place more of a home. I did a complete bedroom makeover and painted the walls, got new paintings, DIY wallpaper to my desk and a lot of new furniture. I absolutely love how calm and peaceful my bedroom is now and it makes me feel like I live in a spa! After spending so much time at home in 2020 and 2021, I realize how important your immediate space is to your mood. My bedroom used to be mismatched and honestly chaotic, and no wonder sometimes I struggled to focus or fall asleep.
My plan in 2022 is to repaint my bathroom and make my living room more cohesive. I turned my living room into a home gym with living room furniture to the sides, and I really want to figure out how to make the space look more put together so it can be enjoyed as both a gym and living room! I’ve lived at my place for over 5 years, so it’s about time I focus on designing it to my style and truly giving myself a home!
5) Grow my clientele
While I’ll be officially working in-person starting January 3rd, my online business will still be active and I plan on growing that business as well as my in-person client list. When I got into this industry, one of my main goals was to be able to show as many people as possible the attainable side of health and wellness. I want to get rid of the idea that health is some magical unreachable goal. I’ll be writing more blogs, developing new customized programs and helping as many people as possible. I am so excited for what 2022 has in store for me!
This coming year sparks so much excitement for me and I feel so good about the path I am on! I hope each of you is equally as inspired and will find yourself setting some amazing goals and absolutely crushing them!
Until next time… and remember goal crushing is for all!
